Accommodation
The cottage has a large garden, private access lane and directly borders onto Glen Lough. Bordered by woodland the property has a large front garden enclosed by a wooden fence and gated access.
The cottage has 4 bedrooms; 2 double rooms and 2 twin rooms. There is also a spacious kitchen-dining area, a living room and a sun room. There is a large timber deck which spans the entirety of the front of the house; complete with deck chairs, table and barbeque.
To the front of the property on the ground floor there is the Master bedroom with an en-suite shower room and large patio doors that open directly out onto the timber-deck. The Master bedroom has a King-size bed and large wardrobe. The bedroom overlooks the front garden with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Bedroom 2 is located on the ground floor to the rear of the property and contains 2 single beds. It is located next to the downstairs bathroom.
Bedroom 3 is to the front of the cottage on the upper floor. It has a king-size bed as well as large velux windows that provide stunning views of the lake. The room is across the hall from the upstairs bathroom.
Bedroom 4 is to the rear of the cottage upstairs with 2 single beds and is adjacent to the upstairs bathroom.
All bedding is provided by the cottage and sheets are changed every Saturday. Extra pillows, duvets, sheeting etc are available on request.
On the ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen and dining area containing everything that you may require. For the chefs among us there is a large 6 ring Zanussi gas hob and electric oven. We also have a dishwasher for afterwards. There is a large fridge-freezer combo and microwave oven. The kitchen also provides pots, pans and dining ware which allows for the cooking of a large selection of meals if you feel like staying in.
The dining area has a large pine table with chairs that can sit up to 8 people. The area opens directly out onto the timber-deck through large patio doors where there is also a table and chairs if an outdoor meal takes your fancy.
Adjacent to the kitchen area there is a utility room with a modern washer-dryer combo, an iron and ironing board available for guests. There is also a built in beam vacuum system installed throughout the cottage with vacuum cleaner provided.
The downstairs bathroom connects to the corridor between the kitchen area and bedroom 2. It contains a large roll-top bathtub and towel heaters as well as toilet and wash-hand basin.
The newest addition to the house is the sun room to the side of the property. The sun room has been designed with large windows to catch the sun in summer and central heating to make it cosy in winter. Designed to be the quiet room in the house, it is separated from the main kitchen area by a door. Furnished with two luxury leather sofas and two relaxing arm chairs this room is perfect to sit in with a nice cup of tea and watch the world go by.
Upstairs is light and airy with the large living room surrounded by windows so you can enjoy the superb views of Glen Lough and Lough Salt mountains that surround the cottage. The cottage has an old style slate fireplace with a traditional turf fire. The fireplace is raised up off the ground, making it safer for younger children.
There are two luxury leather settees to slouch in. The large television comes complete with a DVD player and a VCR as well as a varied selection of videos and DVDs to suit all ages and tastes. There is also a small library of books, magazines and board games to play if you just want to stay in for the evening.
The timber deck is complete with garden furniture and a free gas barbeque that is available for all guests to use.
Outside there is a large front lawn, which is completely fenced in making it safe for young children. The large front garden is perfect for children, and since it faces south it's also perfect for a nice spot of sunbathing if the sun's out. There is also a sheltered back garden with a washing line. A short lane leads directly to the lakeshore, complete with a comfortable wooden seat and sitting area.
